Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to order our wedding cake?

Most of my enquiries come in approximately 12-18 months before the wedding date. This is an ideal time to make your booking, especially if you have booked a date with your venue already. I operate an enquiry list for dates more than 18 month ahead, please contact me to be added to the list.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a deposit (or as I call it - a booking fee) is required to secure your booking. The booking fee is £150, which is non-refundable and can be paid via BACS on card via phone. When you pay the booking fee, you are securing the date in my diary. It is very rare that I will take another order for that week so your cake gets my undivided attention. Included is your box of complimentary cake samples and a face to face or online cake design consultation.

How much does a wedding cake cost?

All my cakes are bespoke to you, it would be impossible to produce a price list. However, I have a price guide which outlines the starting costs for different cake styles. This is based on the basic cake; decorations, delivery fees and cake stands are an additional cost. I can provide a guide price for cake designs, but a final cost will be provided after the full design consultation.

What styles of cakes do you create?

I mainly work within two styles - elegant and modern iced cakes, and modern rustic semi-naked cakes. I absolutely love working with florals, whether it is fresh flowers or making sugar flowers. I pride myself for being able to arrange florals on cakes safely and creatively. I create crisp, sharp edges on all my cakes, as well as having a colour matching service (e.g. matching the colour of the sugar flowers to your bridesmaid's dresses) .

Which areas do you cover?

I can deliver to venues in Suffolk, Essex, and Norfolk.

If your venue is further afield, please contact to discuss.

Each order is subject to a delivery fee.

Do you offer cake tastings?

I offer cake samples 3- 4 times a year, which includes 5 flavours from my menu plus mini biscuit favours. You can purchase samples before committing to a booking, or they are complimentary with a paid booking fee. Cake samples are boxed and ready for your to taste within the comfort of your own home.

What size wedding cake will we need?

I recommend that you cater for a minimum of 80% of your wedding guests. I advise venues to cut the cakes into 1" x 1" finger portions, as the height of each cake is 5-6" tall. You can cater for more than this if wished, or you can have faux tiers if you would like a statement cake and fewer portions. Portion numbers and cake sizes can be determined once you have your confirmed guest numbers.

Can you make cakes to suit dietary requirements?

I am able to cater for certain dietary requirements. However, all cakes are made in a kitchen that handles common allergens and I can never 100% guarantee that the cake will be 'free from' allergens. Please notify me of any dietary requirements and I will do my best to cater for you.

Any 'free from' requests will be made as cupcakes or an individual small cake. This is prepared, baked and decorated separately to your make cake to reduce the risk of allergen contamination.
